I may have mentioned, several times probably, that I’m a huge Joss Whedon fan. It started with Buffy the Vampire Slayer fandom and blossomed from there to Angel, Firefly, Dollhouse, Fray and his various other projects.
Buffy is really a coming of age story. Dealing with the angst of growing up; being different, falling in love, choosing your own path, breaking up with your first real boyfriend, choices and their consequences. Life lessons are sometimes painful, sometimes joyful…..but either way, they shape the person you turn out to be. Here are the top 10 life lessons I learned from Buffy:
10. Never Kill a Boy on the First Date
9. Dating robots is…..bad.
8. Don’t let your fears control you.
7. Treat your friends like you’d want them to treat you. Or you won’t have any!
6. Don’t jump in to bed with a guy because you think you love him and he kisses you.
4. Careful what you wish for! (Sometimes the evil you know is the lesser!)
3. Things aren’t always as they seem. (Really!)
2. Stand up for yourself, you’re worth it.
1. You’d be surprised how many things a pointy stick will kill.
And #1 again…. Carpe Diem, because tomorrow you might be dead.
